In their only matchup so far in 2012-13, the Flyers handed the Islanders their worst loss of the season, a 7-0 drubbing on Feb. 18 at Nassau Coliseum. The home team took 19 shots on goal in one of the only two times the Islanders have been blanked this season. But Philadelphia has struggled of late, winning in regulation just once in their last nine contests. Starting Thursday, the Islanders will play the 14th place Flyers three times over the next 30 days.

| ||Quote of the Day |
"That should be a fun one. Those games should be easy for us to get up for – a rival on the road. It’s a tough environment to play in. They’re physical, chippy games. They’ve had an up and down season, so it’s a big game for both of us. We need to be ready right from the get go."
