ISLANDERS NOTES:
  • The Islanders are riding a five-game winning streak, their third five-game winning streak of the season. The Islanders can match their longest winning streak this season (six games) with a win in Chicago.
    - The Islanders are 15-3-0 in their last 18 games - the first time since the 1989-90 season the Isles have won 15 times in an 18-game stretch. The Islanders have the best record in the NHL since Dec. 15.
    - The Islanders have posted back-to-back shutouts and the team's current shutout streak stands at 132:53. Both Robin Lehner and Thomas Greiss recorded shutouts over that span, with Greiss blanking the Washington Capitals on Friday and Lehner shutting out the Ducks on Sunday.
    This marks the 12th time in franchise history the Isles have posted consecutive shutouts and fourth that two goalies have delivered clean sheets.
    - Robin Lehner was named the
    NHL's First Star of the Week
    on Monday, for the week ending on Jan. 20. Lehner went 3-0-0 with a 0.67 GAA, a .970SV% and one shutout.
    "It's nice when you get recognized sometimes, but when the teams plays good, there's going to be personal success," Lehner said. "We're playing a hell of a team game and that's rewarding everyone."

  • The Islanders have allowed three goals on their five-game winning streak and have held their opponents to fewer than 20 shots in their last three games.
    - Cal Clutterbuck has three goals over the past two games, including the game-winning goal against the Ducks on Sunday. Clutterbuck has six total goals this season.
    - The Islanders (62 points) are first in the Metropolitan Division, three points ahead of the Washington Capitals and Columbus Blue Jackets.
    - This is the Islanders last game before the NHL all-star break and bye week. The Islanders next game will be Feb. 1 at home against the Tampa Bay Lightning.

BLACKHAWKS NOTES:
  • The Blackhawks are coming off an 8-5 win over the Washington Capitals on Sunday afternoon. The win snapped a five-game winless streak for the Blackhawks (0-3-2) who are 3-4-3 in their last 10 games.
    - Chicago (43 points) currently sits seventh in the Central Division and last in the Western Conference, nine points out of a wild card berth.
    - Patrick Kane was named the NHL's Third Star of the Week on Monday, after recording a league-leading 10 points (4G, 6A) in three games. Kane, one of the league's premier gamebreakers, had both a four-and five-point game last week, his second career five-point game. Kane leads the Blackhawks with 70 points (29G, 41A) this season and is riding an eight-game point streak (7G, 13A).
    - Jonathan Toews recorded five points (3G, 2A) in Sunday's 8-5 win over Washington.
    - Alex DeBrincat has seven goals in his last seven games. DeBrincat is second on the team with 25 goals and third with 41 points.
    - This is the Blackhawks final game before the NHL all-star break and their bye week.
