11:11: Thomas Vanek, on what he thinks of playing with John Tavares and Kyle Okposo: "It's going to take time obviously to build chemistry. But watching those two guys over the years - Playing against Johnny and watching him, he's a special player, and I've known Kyle for a while. It's an opportunity that I really look forward to."

11:13: Vanek, on his first Islanders game coming against the Rangers: "It's good. But at the same time, once the puck drops, it doesn't matter who you play. We're out there to get those two points...This is new to me, so it doesn't matter who we're playing. I'm sure I'll be nervous off the bat, but once the game starts, emotions get out of it, and you start playing your game."

11:15: Kyle Okposo, on the departure of Matt Moulson: "It's hard. Obviously Matt and I are close. Any time you see a friend get traded, it's a bit of a shake-up. But that being said, I'm looking forward to playing with Thomas tonight."

11:17: Okposo, on Vanek: "His play around the net is tremendous. He finds ways to score goals. He's a big strong guy. He battles well in the corners. He's always lurking around the net, he's always in a scoring area and he's always ready to score. So I think he'll do well playing with Johnny and myself. We're excited to have him."

11:18: Okposo, on getting up for the Rangers: "It's no problem getting up for this one. Obviously we want to have a bounce-back game after Philly. The energy is going to be good in here tonight. [The Rangers] played last night, so we want to jump on them right away."

12:25: Very light optional skate for the Rangers today. Here's Carl Hagelin, who may make his season debut tonight: "My conditioning is good. I've done a lot of skating. More than I ever have. The conditioning should be there. Once you get into the game, that's when you really know where your conditioning is at."

12:30: Hagelin, on the new coach and system: "I've been trying to pay attention. I've been at a lot of the meetings with the team. For now, it's a matter of going out there and playing my game. The systems aren't too hard. You just have to make sure you're accountable, and that you do the small things right."

12:37: Henrik Lundqvist, who played lsat night but is not scheduled to start tonight, on coach Alain Vigneault's decision to start Cam Talbot: "It's not the first time I'm not playing back-to-backs. It might be a smart decision. We have a lot of games coming up here. I listened to the coach, had a good practice today and I'll get ready for the next one."

Check back later for live updates of the Islanders-Rangers game. Puck drop is just after 7:00 p.m. from Nassau Coliseum.
