Floorball Program: PS/IS 61 Corona

Sixth graders at PS/IS 61 Corona participated in the Spring 3 session of Islanders Floorball today. The class continued with their round robin tournament including 4 teams playing fast-paced three minute games with penalties to discourage high sticking. "Remember your soccer skills," coached physical education teacher Mr. Ciccarello, "Have good spacing and pass to your teammates." Many students in the class have never played hockey before, but they enjoy the challenges the new sport provides. "Hockey is more about teamwork and having good hand-eye coordination," said one student.
