Family Fan Fest Supports Polar Bear Plunge

by Staff Writer / New York Islanders

The Islanders’ Family Fan Fest made their way to Bar Beach in Port Washington Saturday morning from 8 am to 12 pm to be a part of the Special Olympics Polar Plunge. While some brave souls made their way into the very cold waters of the Long Island Sound to raise money for a great cause, Sparky and the Ice Girls were there to cheer them on. Despite the unpleasant weather, the Islanders Fan Fest was able to open their slap shot booth. Fans got to test their shooting accuracy as they attempted to shoot the balls through holes in the four corners of the goal and through the five hole of a goalie. Any fan that stopped by the Islanders’ table was also able to receive some great Islander prizes. Not even the bad weather was enough to put a downer on this great event.
