Despite the unpleasant weather the night before and the chilliness of the morning, the Islanders Family Fan Fest made its way to Eisenhower Park to be a part of the American Red Cross’s first-ever “Cross Walk For Disaster Relief.”  The 5-kilometer walkathon helped raise $5,000 so far for the American Red Cross in Nassau County, which helps those unfortunate residents who lose their homes to fires or other disasters right here in Nassau County.  The Fan Fest was on site with its inflatable moonbounce and slap shot booth for the children to enjoy.  Sparky and the Ice Girls were also on hand to cheer on the Walk participants.  Sparky even had the honor of cutting the ribbon to begin the walk, a true honor!  With the American Red Cross responding to over 115 disasters since July, they need help from the Islanders and their fans now more than ever to help our neighbors in need.  For more information on how you can help donate to a great cause, visit the American Red Cross website by clicking here.
