Don't Miss Push Play!

by Staff Writer / New York Islanders

One of the highlights of this afternoon's Kids' Day at Nassau Coliseum is the musical performances by Push Play, one of Long Island's hottest bands. Push Play will perform following the conclusion of today's Islanders game. The band  performed a short set before the start of today's game as well.

Push Play will play on a stage suspended in mid-air, above the ice, for 30-minutes following the game. At that time, the ice will be open to all kids who want to shoot pucks.

"It's great when you can combine exciting NHL action with hot musical entertainment,” said Tim Beach, Vice President, Events and Operations. "We're excited to have not only one of the hottest bands in the country but a group who is from our backyard.”

Recently dubbed the "new fab four" by Newsday, Push Play has also been featured on the cover of The New York Times (Long Island Section), on the cover of Newsday, in Tiger Beat/Bop, J-14 a Popstar! Magazine, at the Z100 Zootopia Preshow at the Izod Center, and on MTV's TRL. The band has played venues such as the legendary Irving Plaza, and the Nokia Theatre—where they were the first band not signed to a record label ever to grace the stage.

The quartet consists of lead singer CJ Baran, Steve Scarola, Nick DeTurris and Derek Ries. This fall, Push Play will step on one of the biggest stages in entertainment when they perform at The Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade.
