Don't Miss Kids' Day Too!

by Staff Writer / New York Islanders

With the kids off from school, today is the perfect opportunity for you to spend some quality time with those you love. And the Islanders are happy to provide the venue. The Isles will be hosting Kids' Day Too, presented by Send In The Clowns Entertainment Corp., when they face the Pittsburgh Penguins on Presidents’ Day at the Nassau Coliseum at 2 pm.

The first 5,000 kids who enter the Coliseum will receive an Islanders backpack, courtesy of Davis Vision.

A limited number of Family Fun Packs are still available for today's game—which include four tickets, four hot dogs and sodas, and other great benefits. All for just $24.75 per person. Click here for more information or to order now.

As part of Kids' Day Too, a number of professional sports mascots will be joining the Islanders’ own Sparky the Dragon. Among those mascots that will be on hand are: Columbus Blue Jackets Stinger, Chicago Blackhawks Tommy Hawk, Boston Bruins Blades, Bridgeport Sound Tigers Storm, New York Titans, Stony Brook University’s Wolfie, Long Island Ducks Quackerjack and Hofstra University’s Kate & Willie.

In addition, for the first time ever at the Coliseum, the four Presidents from the “Washington Nationals Presidents Race” will be in attendance. George Washington, Thomas Jefferson, Abraham Lincoln and Theodore Roosevelt will race on the ice, as well as sign autographs during the game.

“What better way to celebrate Presidents Day, than with a visit from four of the most prominent Presidents the United States has known,” said Tim Beach, the Islanders Vice President of Operations and Events. “Our fans will surely be entertained and at the same time be reminded of the special day it is for the nation.”

And be sure to carpool to the game. As part of the Islanders “Goal Green” initiative, the first 100 cars that arrive with four or more people at the main Hempstead Turnpike entrance to the Coliseum will receive free parking.
