After defeating the Stars for their seventh straight road, the Islanders flew across the Gulf of Mexico to Sunrise, Florida for the first of two games in the Sunshine State.
The team landed at approximately 12:30 a.m. eastern time and got to the hotel around 1 a.m.
Not a whole lot to report today, as head coach Jack Capuano gave his squad the day off to enjoy the sunshine and 80-degree weather. The big news was John Tavares being named the NHL’s first star of the week.
The team will be back on the ice tomorrow for a morning skate before their date with the Panthers.
