Danny Weight’s five-point game led the Jr. Islanders past the Jr. Philadelphia Flyers 5-2 on Wednesday afternoon.
Weight had a hand in every Isles goal, scoring once while setting up four others, including a hat trick by linemate Matthew Crasa.
After a scoreless opening period, Crasa scored both Islanders goals in the second period, giving his team a 2-0 lead heading into the third. The Flyers answered early in the final frame, but Liam Devlin scored the eventual winner at 12:06, before Crasa completed the trick with an insurance marker 54 seconds later. Weight iced the game with the Islanders fifth goal.
The 5-2 margin puts the Islanders back in the win column and sets up a showdown with the Antoine Girouard Gaulois Thursday at 5:30 p.m.
