Michael Dal Colle and the Ontario Hockey League Champion Oshawa Generals clinched a berth in the Memorial Cup Final after sweeping round-robin play. The final will take place Sunday, May 31 at 7:00 p.m.
The Generals (3-0-0) clinched a berth in the final with a 2-1 win over the Western Hockey League Champion Kelowna Rockets Tuesday. The Memorial Cup Final takes place on May 31 in Quebec City.
Dal Colle scored an assist in the win over the Rockets, giving him five points (two goals, three assists) in three games. The Islanders' prospect is tied with Kelowna's Nick Merkley for the tournament scoring lead.
Dal Colle, the 2015 fifth-overall pick, scored in Oshawa’s 4-3 win over QMJHL champion Rimouski Oceanic on Saturday to open the tournament. He followed with one goal and two assists in the Generals’ 5-4 overtime win over host team, the Quebec Remparts on Sunday.
Quebec and Rimouski wrap up round-robin play Wednesday at 7:30 p.m.
