The New York Islanders and forward Michael Dal Colle have agreed to terms on a three-year, entry-level contract.
The Islanders selected Dal Colle, 18, with the fifth-overall pick in the 2014 National Hockey League Draft. The Richmond Hill, Ontario, native scored 95 points (39 goals, 56 assists) in 67 games with the Oshawa Generals last season. A 6’1, 182-pound winger, Dal Colle added 20 points (eight goals, 12 assists) in 12 Ontario Hockey League playoff games and was named to the OHL Second All-Star Team.
In 2012-13, Dal Colle was named to the OHL First All-Rookie Team after collecting 48 points (15 goals, 33 assists) in 63 games with Oshawa. On the international stage, he won gold with Team Canada at the 2013 Ivan Hlinka Memorial Tournament and played for Canada-Ontario at the 2013 World Under-17 Hockey Challenge.
