Contestant wins trip to Milan courtesy of American Airlines

by Staff Writer / New York Islanders

Neil Manfredi was a lucky man Tuesday night.

In the American Airlines Slap Shot Shoot, a promotion which runs ten times throughout the season at Islanders home games, he won the grand prize and is headed to Milan. Manfredi  landed a puck on the “Milan” faceoff circle to seal the win.

Manfredi was one of three fans chosen at random from the sold out crowd of 16,234 as the Islanders hosted their crosstown rivals, the Rangers.  His answer to an American Airlines trivia question was the closest to correct, which qualified him to take the Coliseum ice in hopes of winning a trip.

In the slap shot contest, the contestant gets the opportunity to take three shots from one end boards to the opposite two faceoff dots.  On the two faceoff dots, there are two American Airlines circled mats with a different destination assigned to them.  Each mat is a different destination for each of the ten (10) promotion nights as well.  The contestant has to try and land one (1) of the three (3) pucks on one the mats.  If he does, he wins a FREE trip courtesy of American Airlines to that destination he landed the puck on.  IF, he misses all three shots, he still gets two (2) FREE round trip tickets anywhere in the Continental US, courtesy of American Airlines.

Congratulations to Neil.
