Kyle Okposo and Blake Comeau continued their week on Long Island with the I.C.E. Tour, Thursday as they headed east, to Stony Brook, where they visited the children of Stony Brook School Summer Program.  As the I.C.E. Tour pulled into the camp, they were greeted by all of the children holding a giant, handmade welcome banner, which was later attached to the truck. The children were ecstatic to see all of the inflatable games and activities set up for them to enjoy throughout the morning. Sparky the Dragon also was on hand to sign autographs and join the children in the interactive games.  Okposo and Comeau started the morning in front of the welcome banner where they signed autographs for all the kids, but quickly made their way to the street hockey set up.  The NHL forwards made teams and faced off in several games of street hockey.  Several times throughout the game, they took the time to teach the children some fundamentals.
“We were really excited to see all the campers eagerly awaiting us with the welcome banner,” Comeau said. “It’s great to visit a program where the kids are this energetic and happy to see us.”
“Whenever you’re out in the community and get a welcome like we did today, it really feels great,” Okposo said. “The kids were terrific and I hope they had as much fun playing hockey as I did.  Hopefully we even sparked some interest in hockey for a few of the kids.”
