Cizikas_Nystrom

Casey Cizikas won the 2017-18 Bob Nystrom Award on Thursday, given to the Islander who best exemplifies leadership, hustle and dedication.
Cizikas does the dirty work for the Islanders. He's second on the team in hits (128), tied for first among forwards in blocks (53). Cizikas is one of the team's most used penalty killers and often starts his shifts in the defensive zone.

Cizikas isn't weighed down by the heavy lifting. He's the team's spark plug and leaves it all on the ice for every shift, giving the Islanders an energy boost in every game. For his hustle, fans voted him the 2017-18 Bob Nystrom Award winner.
"You go out there and try to give it your all, all the time," Cizikas said. "To be recognized for your hard work and constantly battling out there, it's nice for the fans to show their appreciation."
