"I looked down and I saw a little blood, but I didn't know how bad it was until I got to the bench," Cizikas said. "As soon as we took a look at it, we tried to get a whistle and I tried to get off."
That's when Cizikas rushed to the room, skating briskly while Athletic Trainer Damien Hess sprinted after him. He left the ice at 1:25 mark, but was back by 12:02.
Cizikas was asked whether he considered sitting out the rest of the game.
"No chance," he said. "It's going to take a lot for me not to come back."
Cizikas was fortunate to avoid a serious injury on Tuesday night and showed no anxiousness or hesitation from his bandaged arm. He finished the game with an assist on Nikolay Kulemin's goal and nearly set up another, stripping the puck from Braden Holtby behind the net and feeding Cal Clutterbuck.
"It's not something I want to go through again," Cizikas said. "But our doctor's did a great job stitching me back up and getting me back out there as soon as possible.
