CANCELLED: Islanders at Devils

UPDATE: THURSDAY'S PRESEASON GAME AGAINST NEW JERSEY HAS BEEN CANCELLED
Because of a power outage that occurred prior to tonight's game vs. the New Jersey Devils, lighting in the northeast bank of the arena was unable to be restored.
In consultation with the Devils and the NHL, it was determined that the playing conditions were unsuitable for players on both teams.
Therefore, tonight's pre-season contest has been cancelled and will not be re-scheduled.

With one week remaining until the start of the regular season, the New York Islanders take on the New Jersey Devils in preseason action at Prudential Center. The Islanders are 3-0-1 in preseason play, most recently coming off a 3-0 win over the Philadelphia Flyers on Tuesday night at Webster Bank Arena. The Devils are 4-1-0 in the exhibition season, including a 2-1 OT win over the Islanders on Saturday.
As the regular season draws nearer, Head Coach Barry Trotz said he expects his lineup over the Islanders next two preseason games to be reflective of his opening night roster. On Tuesday, Trotz debuted Kyle Palmieri on a line with Mathew Barzal and Anders Lee, a trio the coach said he anticipated started the season with. Trotz also paired Zdeno Chara and Noah Dobson together to build some chemistry between the new prospective partners.
Ilya Sorokin will start and play the full game, per Trotz. Andy Greene will also make his preseason debut. Devils roster highlights include Dougie Hamilton, 2020 first-round pick (7th overall) Alexander Holtz and captain Nico Hischier.
