Islanders prospect Justin Bourne selected to the ECHL All-Star Team, then promoted to the AHL's Bridgeport Sound Tigers

After being recently announced to the ECHL All-Star Game, Islanders prospect Justin Bourne will join the Bridgeport Sound Tigers, the Islanders' American Hockey League Affiliate.

While playing in 36 games with the Islanders' ECHL affiliate, the Utah Grizzlies, Bourne posted 12 goals and ten assists. Since December 1, Bourne has led the Grizzlies in scoring with ten goals and ten assists in 17 games.

Justin, son of 2006 Islanders Hall of Fame inductee Bob Bourne, signed with the Islanders organization following a successful Training Camp in Moncton, New Brunswick.

Bourne was a four-year standout with the Alaska-Anchorage Seawolves of the WCHA. In his senior year, Bourne was named the team's MVP, leading the Seawolves with 21 assists and 31 points.

The British Columbia-native helped turn around a Seawolves team that picked up only one win in 36 games a season prior to his joining and then totaled 14 in his freshman year in 2003-04.

Following his senior year, Bourne played in nine regular season games with the Alaska Aces of the ECHL, totaling three goals and three assists. He then notched three goals and two assists in eight playoff contests.
