Boulton agrees to terms on one-year deal

The New York Islanders announced today that forward Eric Boulton has agreed to terms on a one-year contract.

Boulton, 36, appeared in 15 games this season with the Islanders, recording 36 penalty minutes. In 615 career NHL games with the Buffalo Sabres, Atlanta Thrashers, New Jersey Devils and the Islanders, the Halifax, NS, native has 73 points (27 goals, 46 assists) and 1,301 penalty minutes. He also appeared in four Stanley Cup Playoff games, all with the Thrashers.

The New York Rangers selected Boulton in the ninth round, 234th overall, of the 1994 National Hockey League Entry Draft. Boulton, a 6’0, 224-pound forward, has appeared in 133 career American Hockey League games and 171 ECHL games. He made his professional debut in the 1996-97 season after completing a three-year junior career in the Ontario Hockey League, split between the Oshawa Generals and the Sarnia Sting.
