BLAKE NAMED PLAYER OF THE MONTH

by Staff Writer / New York Islanders
H.L. Gross & Brothers Honor November's Best

Islanders forward Jason Blake was named the H.L. Gross & Brothers Jewelers player of the month for November. Blake led the Islanders with 13 points in November on seven goals and six assists. In a win on Nov. 26 in  Philadelphia, he recorded the third hat trick of his career.

"I very much appreciate the honor," said Blake. "I'm proudest of the fact that in most of the games in which I racked up the points, they were team wins. It only counts if your team wins the  games, so I want to acknowledge my teammates. A bunch of the guys -- likes Batesy and Yash, the goalies and many of the defensemen -- also would have been worthy."

During a pre-game on-ice ceremony on Saturday night, Jason received a Philip Stein Watch from Brad Gross, Vice President of H.L. Gross & Brothers Jewelers of Garden City. Jason was joined on the ice by the lucky fan whose name was picked from the voting ballots,  Allison Mulhall of Merrick. Allison won a Tag Heuer Watch courtesy of H.L. Gross & Brothers Jewelers.

For your chance to take part in January's on-ice ceremony and win your own Tag Heuer watch, make sure you stop by the guest relations table outside gate 3 during an Islanders home game and vote for the H.L. Gross Brothers of Garden City Islander of the Month.
