Best of the Week

by Cory Wright / New York Islanders

It was a relatively quiet week for the Islanders, who only played two games around the Christmas break. That being said, there was nothing quiet about a 5-2 win over the Anaheim Ducks or a nasty battle with the Toronto Maple Leafs. As a belated holiday gift, enjoy some of the best photos of the week, an absolute beauty by Cal Clutterbuck and the return of everyone's favorite dragon.

Happy New Year Isles fans.

GOAL OF THE WEEK: CAL CLUTTERBUCK

Cal Clutterbuck takes this week’s honors in style. Clutterbuck knows a thing or two about hitting in the NHL and drives straight through Kevin Bieksa’s hip check on his way to the net, but don’t forget about his lethal wrist shot. He threads the needle on Anaheim’s Frederik Andersen, roofing the puck upstairs in a hurry. Andersen only left him a couple of inches on a sharp-angle, but that’s too many Freddie.
