More than 150 fans were on hand at the Islanders Team Store at the Broadway Mall in Hicksville on Tuesday night to meet Islanders center Josh Bailey. Bailey talked with fans, signed autographs and posed for pictures.

Many fans waited in line for more than 45 minutes for the chance to meet Bailey.

“The line was a little long but it was worth it in the end,” said Eric Janssen of Hicksville, who had two pucks signed by Bailey. “He’s a really good guy, and I’m really excited for this year!”

Among the crowd of people were members of the Islanders Kids Club.

“We signed up for the Islanders Kids Club at the Jones Beach Fireworks Spectacular and received an email telling us that Josh Bailey was going to be here,” said Nancy Axelrod from Old Bethpage. “My husband and I decided to bring our son, Spencer, and daughter, Stephanie, to meet him.”

It’s been an exciting week for Bailey, who is traveling with the I.C.E. Tour.

“A lot of fans came into the store here and it’s been a lot of fun seeing all of them and signing some autographs,” Bailey said. “I’m looking forward to the upcoming season and can’t wait to get it started.  It’s going to be exciting because there is a lot of hype around it so I’m looking forward to it.”

The next Team Store signing will be on Thursday, July 16th, when Freddy Meyer will be signing at the Westfield Sunrise Mall in Massapequa.  Bruno Gervais and Nate Thompson will be at the Broadway Mall Tuesday, July 21st.
