All-Star Voting Underway!

It’s time to send Rick DiPietro and Trent Hunter to the All-Star Game!

XM/NHL All-Star Fan Ballot presented by 2K Sports began on Monday and will conclude on January 2. DiPietro and Hunter are the Islanders representatives on the ballot for the All-Star Game, which will be played on January 25th in Montreal.
For the first time ever, the NHL will offer real-time results, which means that you can see how your vote makes an impact. And there are several ways to make sure your voice is heard!
On-line balloting available at You can vote for an entire starting line-up, or just for your favorite Islanders players. Don’t forget to write in your favorite Islanders players who are not on the official ballot.
Votes can also be cast through text message. Fans can text message the last name of your favorite Islander to 81812. Or, text the word ‘ISLANDERS’ or ‘ISLES’ to 81812, which will place a vote for Islanders official ballot nominees DiPietro and Hunter. Standard text messaging rates apply.
DiPietro started in his first NHL All-Star game last season, stopping 15-of-16 shots in the first period to help the East claim victory. He is currently recovering from arthroscopic surgery on his knee.
Hunter has seven goals and six assists so far this season, for a total of 13 points.
