Panthers sign defenseman Olsen to two-year contract

Defenseman Dylan Olsen signed a two-year contract with the Florida Panthers, the team announced Monday. Financial details were not disclosed.

Olsen, 23, was a restricted free agent who played 44 games for Florida last season. He scored three goals and 12 points, and had a career-high five-game point streak in early December.

Sabres sign forward Dalpe to one-year contract

Lightning sign veteran Morrow to one-year contract

Veteran forward Brenden Morrow signed a one-year contract with the Tampa Bay Lightning, the team announced Friday. Financial terms were not released, but Pierre LeBrun of ESPN.com reported the value at $1.55 million.

"I think it's a young team that is coming into their own in the next couple of years, so their window of where they are going to be expected to have a championship season,'' Morrow told The Tampa Tribune.

"And they have great leadership and a coach (Jon Cooper) that has won at every level. They are an exciting team. They are a hungry team, and I'm excited about the opportunity to play with this group."

ST. LOUIS -- In a strange and surprising twist of events Thursday, the St. Louis Blues brought back a familiar face and might be about to lose another.

The Blues re-signed unrestricted free agent forward Steve Ott to a two-year, $5.2 million contract.

After the Blues signed free agent centers Paul Stastny and Jori Lehtera, it was thought that the Blues would move in a different direction. However, that changed St. Louis general manager Doug Armstrong learned restricted free agent center Vladimir Sobotka was considering signing with a team in the Kontinental Hockey League.

Gudbranson, Panthers agree on two-year contract

Defenseman Erik Gudbranson agreed to terms on a two-year contract with the Florida Panthers on Thursday. Financial details were not released.

"Erik is an important part of our young core of talented players who we are pleased to have signed," general manager Dale Tallon told the Panthers website. "He is a big, strong and physical defenseman who is one of the building blocks for our team. We look forward to his continued development and his contributions to the South Florida community."

Senators re-sign forward Grant

Forward Derek Grant signed a one-year, two-way contract with the Ottawa Senators, the team  announced Thursday. Financial details were not revealed, but multiple media outlets reported it at $700,000 if he's in the NHL and $85,000 in the American Hockey League.
