Sabres' Kane denies wrongdoing in allegations
The Buffalo Sabres issued a statement Sunday night acknowledging allegations made against left wing Evander Kane earlier Sunday.

Buffalo Sabres left wing Evander Kane denied any wrongdoing in regard to reports he is involved in a sex-offense investigation.

"Obviously you guys are all aware of the situation that occurred, or that's going on right now," Kane said Monday. "There's not a whole lot I can say. I just want to say I've done nothing wrong; I look forward to clearing my name. I respect the legal process and, unfortunately at this time, there's not much more I can talk about."

The Buffalo News reported Kane is the subject of a sex-offense investigation relating to an alleged incident at a Buffalo hotel on Sunday morning.

Kane, who spoke after taking part in the morning skate at First Niagara Center, did not answer questions. He is expected to play Monday against the Washington Capitals.

Buffalo coach Dan Bylsma said Kane addressed his teammates before the morning skate.

The Sabres also made a statement Sunday night.

"We take the allegation made today against Evander Kane very seriously," the statement said. "We are gathering facts and have been in touch with the NHL and Evander's representatives. Until we have more information we will not have any additional comment."

"We are aware of and monitoring the investigation involving Buffalo Sabres forward Evander Kane," the NHL said in a statement Sunday night. "We will have no further comment at this time."
