The Detroit Red Wings recall center Stephen Weiss from conditioning loan with the AHL's Grand Rapids Griffins.

The Detroit Red Wings today recalled center Stephen Weiss from his conditioning loan with the AHL's Grand Rapids Griffins.

A veteran of 681 NHL games since 2001-02, Weiss has 398 career points with Detroit and Florida. Originally drafted by the Panthers in the first round (fourth overall) of the 2001 NHL Entry Draft, Weiss is the Panthers' all-time leader in games played (654) and assists (249). He skated in one game for Grand Rapids, recording a plus-one rating with one shot on goal.
