The blue sweater features a modern look on the traditional Islanders logo, with the iconic "NY" lettering infused with a chrome border, and four stripes to represent the Stanley Cup championships won by the franchise from 1980-83.
"It's sharp," said captain John Tavares, who recently modeled the jersey. "It's going more for the modern look, which I think is a great idea, especially with so many teams going back to the retro. We're going to look good when we go out there."
Full-season ticket subscribers can now place their orders for the exclusive jersey, which will become available to all fans on Friday.
