Logan Couture outshines John Tavares as 67's beat Knights 4-3

Logan Couture scored two goals with two assists to lead the Ottawa 67's past the London Knights 4-3 in Ontario Hockey League action Sunday afternoon.

Anthony Nigro also had two goals for the 67's (29-16-5) while Adam Courchaine made 24 saves for the win.

"A lot of guys on the ice were good but I don't think anyone was better than Logan Couture," said 67's coach and general manager Brian Kilrea. "He knew he was up against John Tavares and he had something to prove."

Elsewhere in the OHL on Sunday, it was: Brampton 6, Sudbury 3; Kitchener 7, Oshawa 0; Windsor 5, Sault Ste. Marie 3.

On Saturday: Brampton 5, Peterborough 1; Erie 5, Guelph 2; London 3, Belleville 2; Mississauga 7, Plymouth 4; Niagara 4, Barrie 3; Owen Sound 9 Sudbury 4; and Saginaw 5, Sault Ste. Marie 2.

At Ottawa, Tavares, Zac Rinaldo and Phil Varone replied for the Knights (37-12-2), who lost two of three weekend games.

Ravor Cann made 29 saves for London.

Spitfires 5, Greyhounds 3

At Windsor, Ont., Taylor Hall scored twice and Andrew Engelage made 25 saves as the Spitfires beat Sault Ste. Marie.

Greg Nemisz, Adam Henrique and Lane MacDermid also scored for Windsor, while Michael Quesnele, Tomas Rachunek and Carson Dubchak replied for the Greyhounds, who have only two victories in their last 15 games.

Battalion 6, Wolves 3

At Brampton, Ont., rookie Sam Carrick scored twice while Cody Hodgson added a goal and an assist as the Battalion won their 10th straight game.

Scott Tanski, Anthony Peluso and Evgeni Grachev also scored for Brampton, which earlier won 16 straight this season. Hodgson set a team record by extending his points streak to 20.

Matt Dias, with two, and Dean Howard replied for the Wolves.

Rangers 7 Generals 0

At Oshawa, Ont., Chris MacKinnon scored twice and assisted on two others while Tyler Randell added a goal and three assists to lead Kitchener over the Generals.

Also scoring for the Rangers were Jeff Skinner, Jonathan Jasper, Alex Aleardi, Tyler Randell and Julian Cimadamore while Parker Van Buskirk made 27 saves.

The Generals lost their sixth in a row.
