KENNEWICK, Wash. - Brady Calla had a hat trick and goaltender Jon Groenheyde posted just his second Western Hockey League win of the season Monday as the Kamloops Blazers beat Tri-City 5-2, handing the Americans a rare home loss.
Kamloops (16-19-1-4) ended a seven-game losing streak to the Americans that stretched back to last season.
Groenheyde finished with 32 saves, while Jimmy Bubnick and C.J. Stretch added goals.
Taylor Procyshen had both goals for the Americans (24-10-0-2) and rookie goalie Drew Owsley finished with 21 saves.
