KITCHENER, Ont. - The Kitchener Rangers dumped on the top-ranked major junior club in Canada by beating the Windsor Spitfires 4-3.
The Rangers, who host the Sarnia Sting on Friday in their final game before Christmas, ended a six-game losing streak.
The Spitfires were 12-0 at their sad, old barn.
Since opening their new 6,600-capacity rink a week ago, they've lost twice in five home games.
The Rangers entered Thursday's game in 10th and last place in a Western Conference dominated by Windsor. Kitchener (14-6-1-1) is now tied for eighth with Erie and Sault Ste. Marie.

At Peterborough, Ont., Akim Aliu scored twice as London blitzed the Petes.
John Carlson had a goal and two assists for the Knights (25-7-0-1), while Jason Wilson, Tucker Hunter and Phil McRae had a goal and assist each. Justin Taylor and Jared Knight also scored.
Brett Theberge had the lone goal for Peterborough (15-19-0-2).

At Barrie, Ont., Taylor Carnevale and Daniel Michalsky each scored twice for the Colts.
Matt Stanisz added a goal and an assist for Barrie (17-15-1-1), winners of four straight.
Chris Terry and Tyler J. Brown answered for the Whalers (15-15-3-0).

Sting 3 Greyhounds 1
At Sarnia, Ont., Matt Martin and Justin DiBenedetto each had two points as the Sting downed Sault Ste. Marie.
Ben O'Quinn scored the other goal for Sarnia (16-15-2-2).
Jake Carrick replied for the Greyhounds (14-18-1-1).
