Washington (4-6-2) at Carolina (5-5-3) 6:00 pm EST

RALEIGH, North Carolina (Ticker) -- Two teams from the Southeast Division collide tonight when the Carolina Hurricanes host the Washington Capitals. Carolina is second in the Southeast Division at 5-5-3, five points behind the Florida Panthers and three points ahead of Washington.

The Capitals are seeking their third straight win after a six-game winless streak (0-5-1). They earned a 5-3 victory over the high-flying Toronto Maple Leafs on Friday after relinquishing a three-goal lead.

Carolina has lost two in a row after Friday night's 3-2 setback in Detroit, getting outscored 9-2. Sami Kapanen has five goals and three assists in his last six games and leads the team with 17 points.

This will be just the third home game for the Hurricanes, who opened the season with a nine-game road trip. They are 0-2 at the new Raleigh Entertainment & Sports Arena.

Washington has been dreadful on the road, going 1-4-1.

The Caps got production from two unlikely sources on Friday as Jan Bulis and Chris Simon each scored twice. Bulis has two goals and three assists in his last five games and is tied with Peter Bondra for the team lead in points.

Olaf Kolzig has been mediocre at best this season for the Caps, going 3-5-2 with a 3.27 goals-against average and a .880 save percentage.

These teams split five games last season.
