After a Christmas break, Tweetmail is back!

This is a weekly feature on CarolinaHurricanes.com in which I take your Twitter questions about the Carolina Hurricanes or other assorted topics and answer them in mailbag form. Hopefully, the final product is insightful to some degree, and maybe we have some fun along the way.

This week, I’m going to run through a handful of questions that have been lying around in rapid-fire format. Ready?

Let’s get to it.

Who is our third goalie in the case of both goalies being unable to play? – Benjamin R. (@RangerRick)

I asked around the room whose role this would be in the case of both goalies being incapacitated in quick succession in a game. No one seemed to be willing to volunteer, but I imagine it would be one of the dressed defensemen. Maybe they could draw straws. Or, I suppose you could always opt to play with six attackers.

Of course, if it didn't happen in a game, the team would have time to recall someone or sign the more-than-capable equipment manager Jorge Alves to a professional try-out contract.

Is there any timeline for Nestrasil’s return? – Doug A. (@dabrams2021)

He’s got to be more comfortable skating than he is now. And he is not there just yet. Hopefully it’s sooner rather than later, though.

If the Canes decide to sell, who are the potential trade partners? – Brian (@NC_Sports_Fan)

Anyone and everyone, I’d assume.

Can a team pick up multiple players on waivers on the same day (assuming cap/roster room)? – Dan M. (@caniac176)

Sure, go for it.

(Teams can do it, but I would imagine it would be an incredibly rare and interesting scenario.)

Will the Canes ever have a 50/50 raffle benefiting charity similar to other teams? – Kate E. (@katecaniac)

It would be great, but lottery guidelines in North Carolina are tricky. The team is currently working to make sure it complies with all laws, and the hope is that there will be a 50/50 raffle before the end of the season. But nothing has been finalized just yet.

What are some of the different things the Canes players do on the plane rides? – Robert (@rvonjess)

Eat, sleep, chat, listen to music, read, etc. Not much different than what you’d expect, probably.

Who is better: Michael Jordan or @TheBigCzech23? – Kim M. (@CarolinaKanic)

Michal Jordan, obviously.

Will Ron Francis himself be attending the World Junior Championship? – Doug A. (@dabrams2021)

Yes, he’s there now, as are a handful of the team’s scouts and assistant to the GM and video scout Darren Yorke.

Some people (myself included) chuckle when a referee or linesman wipes out. Don’t know why that’s amusing … do you? – Carolyn G. (@goCanes_score)

Same reason why “America’s Funniest Home Videos” has been going strong for 24 seasons (and counting).
