RALEIGH, NC (August 28, 2000) – The Carolina Hurricanes will hold a festival called “CANIAC CARNIVAL” at the Entertainment and Sports Arena in Raleigh, North Carolina on Sunday, September 24 featuring an open practice, an autograph session, and many other interactive activities for fans of all ages. There is no admission charge and parking is free to the event, which begins at noon and ends at 6:00 p.m.

“We are excited to kick off the 2000-01 Carolina Hurricanes hockey season with the Caniac Carnival,” said Carolina Hurricanes’ Senior Director of Marketing Communications Ken Lehner. “The purpose of the Caniac Carnival is to provide a free opportunity for the entire region to experience the excitement of NHL hockey as the team gets prepared for the upcoming season.”

“CANIAC CARNIVAL” surrounds the team’s practice and is a great way for fans to have the opportunity to interact with all of their favorite Hurricanes players. The day includes...

  • Clowns, Face Painters & Music
  • Bubble Hockey Tournament

    All concession, merchandise, and ticket stands will be open to the public. The Arena Club will be available for Season Ticket Holders.

    The event is also sponsored locally by WRAL-TV, the News & Observer, and WRBZ 850 The Buzz.
