RALEIGH, NC. -Don Waddell, President and General Manager of the National Hockey League's Carolina Hurricanes, today announced that forward Teuvo Teravainen underwent successful surgery on his left hand on Thursday, performed by Dr. Harrison Tuttle of Raleigh Orthopaedic. Teravainen is out indefinitely.

Teravainen, 28, recorded 37 points (12g, 25a) in 68 regular-season games this season and skated in Carolina's opening two playoff games. He ranked tied for fifth on the team in assists and tied for fourth in plus/minus (+11) during the regular season. The 5'11", 198-pound forward also finished second on the team in shorthanded goals (2) and tied for second in shorthanded points (3). Teravainen has earned 32 points (16g, 16a) in 50 postseason appearances with Carolina and ranks second in playoff goals and points among all Hurricanes skaters since 2019. The Helsinki, Finland, native has tallied 362 points (113g, 249a) in 479 games with Carolina since being acquired from Chicago on June 15, 2016.
