RALEIGH, NC – Howard Sadel, Director of Marketing and Creative Services for the Stanley Cup Champion Carolina Hurricanes, announced today that the Stanley Cup will make an appearance in Durham when it is on display at the Durham Bulls game at the Durham Bulls Athletic Park on Friday, July 7.
In addition to the Cup visiting the DBAP, Hurricanes goaltender and 2006 Conn Smythe Trophy winner Cam Ward, and left wing Erik Cole, will throw the game’s ceremonial first pitch. The Stanley Cup will remain on display at the ballpark until the end of the seventh inning for fans to view up close and take photos.
Hurricanes mascot Stormy will accompany the Stanley Cup to the appearance. Durham, the Class AAA affiliate of the Tampa Bay Devils Rays, plays in the International League and hosts the Richmond Braves on Friday night at 7 p.m. The DBAP is located at 409 Blackwell St in Durham.
