RALEIGH, NC – Jon Chase, Director of Community Relations and Promotions for the National Hockey League’s Carolina Hurricanes, today announced that Hurricanes forward Jeff Skinner and defenseman Justin Faulk will serve meals to children at the Homework Haven location of the Food Bank of Central and Eastern North Carolina’s “Kid’s Café” on Wednesday afternoon. The event will take place from 3:30-5 p.m. and is open to the media.

Kids Café is an after-school program that offers tutoring, nutrition education, mentoring and nutritious meals to children at risk of hunger. Initiated by Feeding America, Kids Café provides a safe and positive environment for children ages 15 and under to gather after school. The Food Bank of Central and Eastern North Carolina was one of the beneficiaries of the Hurricanes’ November food drive at the RBC Center, and the Kids Café program recently received a $9,000 grant from the Carolina Hurricanes Kids ‘N Community Foundation.
