Jim Rutherford, President and General Manager of the National Hockey League’s Carolina Hurricanes, today announced that forward Scott Walker underwent successful surgery on his left hand this morning. Dr. Harrison Tuttle of Raleigh Orthopaedic Clinic performed the procedure to repair a torn ligament in Walker’s hand, and the Hurricanes’ winger is expected to miss six weeks of action.
Tickets still remain for the Hurricanes’ season-opening game on Friday night against the Florida Panthers, and for Monday night’s showdown with the Stanley Cup champion Detroit Red Wings. The games mark the team’s only home games for the month of October, as the Hurricanes embark on a six-game road trip following Monday night’s game. Single-game Hurricanes tickets are on sale now and are available at the Time Warner Cable Box Office at the RBC Center, CarolinaHurricanes.com and all Ticketmaster outlets.
