River Rats in Bus Crash Last Night

The Hurricanes have confirmed that a bus carrying the Albany River Rats home from last night’s game in Lowell, Massachussets, was involved in a crash last night.

According to Hurricanes’ Vice President and Assistant General Manager Jason Karmanos, players and staff members were treated at Berkshire Medical Center in Pittsfield, Massachussets. Four passengers were Four players and one staff member were admitted to the hospital for more serious, but not life-threatening, injuries.

Albany Coach Jeff Daniels was quoted in the Albany Times Union after the crash, saying that the team was “fortunate and lucky” that more serious injuries did not occur.
