Defenseman Rasmus Rissanen will miss 3-4 weeks with an MCL injury, the Carolina Hurricanes announced today.

Rissanen was injured in the second period of Sunday's game in Columbus when he got tangled up with Scott Hartnell along the near boards. He had to be helped off the ice and did not return to the game.

The 23-year-old defenseman made his NHL debut on March 6 against Minnesota and has skated in six games.

Defenseman Ryan Murphy has missed the team's last two games with an illness, but he should be ready to draw back into the lineup this week. Jack Hillen is also on the injured list, having missed the team's last five games with a concussion. If needed, call-up options from Charlotte at this point are limited, as no defenseman on the team's roster has played an NHL game.
