The Carolina Hurricanes' season may be over, but a number of Canes prospects are making noise in their own playoff runs.
Here are the highlights from the last couple days.

Charlotte Checkers, American Hockey League
The Charlotte Checkers won each of their games this weekend and now own a 2-0 series lead against Wilkes-Barre/Scranton in the first round of the AHL playoffs.

Charlotte plays Game 3 of the best-of-five series on Thursday at Wilkes-Barre/Scranton.

Florida Everblades, East Coast Hockey League
The Florida Everblades swept the Atlanta Gladiators in the first round of the ECHL playoffs. Spencer Smallman earned two assists in Florida's 3-2 overtime win on Friday in Game 4.

The Everblades with face the Orlando Solar Bears in the second round of the ECHL playoffs, and will host Game 1 on Friday.
Martin Necas, HC Kometa Brno
Martin Necas and HC Kometa Brno defeated Oceláři Třinec 4-1 on Sunday to capture the Czech Extraliga championship in five games. Necas registered two points (1g, 1a) on Sunday, including the game-winning goal.

Necas finished the playoffs with nine points (4g, 5a) in 14 games and ranked tied for third on the team in goals and points. In addition, he ranked tied for third in the league in game-winning goals (2) during the playoffs, tied for seventh in power-play goals (2), tied for eighth in assists and tied for 10th in goals.
Jake Bean and Morgan Geekie, Tri-City Americans
Jake Bean, Morgan Geekie and the Tri-City Americans are tied 1-1 with the Everett Silvertips after a pair of Western Conference Finals games this weekend. Tri-City lost 3-2 on Friday in Game 1, but Bean (1a) and Geekie (1g) each registered a point. Geekie's goal extended his point streak to nine games.

Tri-City defeated Everett 5-3 on Saturday to even the series 1-1. Bean added another assist to extend his point streak to four games. Geekie has tallied 25 points (16g, 9a) in 10 playoff games, and Bean has earned 16 points (1g, 15a) in 10 games. Geekie ranks third in the WHL in playoff points and Bean ranks first among WHL defensemen in points. Tri-City hosts Everett tonight in Game 3 of the WHL Western Conference Finals.
Noah Carrol, Sault Ste. Marie Greyhounds
Noah Carroll and the Sault Ste. Marie Greyhounds have a 2-0 series lead in the OHL Western Conference Finals. Carroll has tallied three points (2g, 1a) in 13 playoff games. Sault Ste. Marie travels to Kitchener tonight for Game 3.
Jeremy Helvig, Kingston Frontenacs
Goaltender Jeremy Helvig and the Kingston Frontenacs dropped both of their games this weekend and are now down 3-0 to Hamilton in the OHL Eastern Conference Finals. Kingston has been outscored 16-4 in three games, but Helvig has stopped 74 of 89 shots this series. Kingston hosts Game 4 on Tuesday.
