RALEIGH, NC. -The Carolina Hurricanes will go with Frederik Andersen in net Sunday as they face the NHL's best, the Boston Bruins.
The netminder is 4-0 since returning from a lower-body injury that kept him out of game action from mid-November until mid-January but left Wednesday night's win over Dallas after the first period due to an upper-body concern. Rod Brind'Amour shared on Friday though that Andersen was evaluated on Thursday and the netminder felt fine. The 33-year-old took part in Friday's morning skate and Saturday's practice. On the year he is 9-3-0 with a .905 save percentage. In front of Andersen, Brind'Amour also said that Jaccob Slavin is doubtful to play. The trusty defender suffered a lower-body injury on Thursday, January 19 in the team's victory against Minnesota and is now expected to miss his fourth game. Slavin took part in Friday's morning skate and Saturday's practice, so the injury is not anticipated to keep him out of the lineup long-term, but it will likely hold him out once again today.
