GAME NIGHT: The Carolina Hurricanes close out a three-game home-stand Tuesday against the Tampa Bay Lightning…The Lightning come to Raleigh tied with the expansion Columbus Blue Jackets for the worst record in the National Hockey League…Tampa Bay and Carolina will meet a total of five times this season with three match-ups at the Entertainment and Sports Arena…Carolina rookie center Josef Vasicek looks to continue his two-game points/assist streak tonight.

CAROLINA / TAMPA BAY SERIES: The Hurricanes dropped only one game to the Lightning during the 1999-2000 season in going 3-1-1 in the series…Carolina goaltender Arturs Irbe was in net for all five 1999-2000 contests, turning away 114 shots and registering a 2.37 GAA and .905 save percentage…Hurricane forward Jeff O’Neill chalked up five points (2g, 3a) during last season’s series…The Hurricanes are 17-9-6 all-time (11-2-3 at home) against the Lightning.

CAROLINA NOTES: The Hurricanes’ rookie forward Josef Vasicek looks to score a point in three straight games for the second time this season…Vasicek assisted on Marek Malik’s goal on Sunday against the St. Louis Blues taking his season assists total to a team-high six and his points total to eight – just one behind the team’s top scorer, Martin Gelinas…Vasicek is tied for fourth in scoring and second in assists among all NHL rookies.

TAMPA BAY NOTES: Tampa Bay’s number one goaltender Dan Cloutier went on the injured reserve list on Tuesday following a shoulder blade injury in Sunday’s game against New Jersey…Cloutier has posted a record of 0-3-1, a 5.45 GAA and a .862 save percentage in four games this season…Goaltender Kevin Weekes looks to win the top job in Tampa while Cloutier is on the IR…Weekes is 2-3-0 with a 3.67 GAA and a .887 save percentage.
