GAME NIGHT: The Carolina Hurricanes return from a four game road trip to host the San Jose Sharks Tuesday night at the Entertainment and Sports Arena…The game marks the Sharks’ first visit to the Hurricanes home in Raleigh and only the 17th meeting all-time between the clubs…Rookie center Josef Vasicek and Hurricanes' points leader Martin Gelinas each look to extend their points streaks tonight…Gelinas’ five-game point streak, started at home on October 10 against Dallas while Vasicek’s began October 13 at Florida…San Jose is on a two game winning streak tallying wins agains Minnesota and Nashville last week.

PRACTICE TIMES:Tuesday, the Hurricanes will practice at the Entertainment and Sports Arena 10:00 a.m. – 11:15 p.m.

CAROLINA / SAN JOSE SERIES: In the teams’ lone meeting last season, March 4 in San Jose, The Hurricanes defeated the Sharks, 5-2…Hurricanes Ron Francis (2g, 0a) and Bates Battaglia (0g, 2a) led Carolina by notching two points each in the contest…Overall, the series between the teams is deadlocked 8-8 and both teams are 4-4 at home…The Hurricanes will travel to San Jose on November 4 for the teams’ second match-up this season.

CAROLINA NOTES: The Hurricanes return from a three game road trip that ended Saturday in Montreal with a 5-2 loss to the Canadiens…Carolina forward Martin Gelinas (3g, 4a) stretched his point streak to five games with a goal against Montreal goaltender Jose Theodore…Rookie forward Shane Willis (2g, 3a) notched his second goal of the season Saturday on the power play…Rookie forward Josef Vasicek (1g, 5a) earned assists on both Carolina goals extending his point streak to four games…The Hurricanes recalled defensemen Mike Rucinski and Greg Kuznik from the IHL Cincinnati Cyclones last Thursday…Both players tallied significant on-ice times against Montreal on Saturday due to injuries to four Carolina defensemen.
