The Hurricanes and Philadelphia face off for the third of four match-ups this season Saturday at the Entertainment and Sports Arena. The teams have split the first two meetings this season, with the Hurricanes shutting out the Flyers on Nov. 30 at the Entertainment and Sports Arena 2-0, and the Flyers beating Carolina 2-1 in overtime at the First Union Center on Dec. 23. Last season the teams split four games, with each team going 1-1 at home and on the road. Carolina goaltender Arturs Irbe blanked the Flyers in two of the four games and recorded a 1.76 goals against average against the Flyers. Hurricanes captain Ron Francis (1g, 3a) led all Carolina scorers in the series with four points. The Hurricanes are 21-41-10-1 all-time against Philadelphia, 12-18-7 on home ice.
