GAME NIGHT:
The Carolina Hurricanes face the Boston Bruins in an important afternoon match-up on Sunday at the Entertainment and Sports Arena. Following the game, the team travels to Philadelphia for a Monday night game against the Flyers. The Hurricanes are currently three points behind the Boston Bruins for the eighth and final playoff spot in the Eastern Conference, with two games in hand. The Hurricanes recalled goaltender Jean-Marc Pelletier on Saturday, and have placed forward Darren Langdon on the Injured Reserve list. Arturs Irbe is day-to-day with a groin strain. The Hurricanes have lost just seven of their last 21 games overall (11-6-3-1).

Carolina winger Jeff O’Neill has 31 points in his last 30 games (22g, 9a), scoring goals in 16 of those games. Ron Francis has 17 points (5g, 12a) in his last 17 games. HURRICANES VS. BOSTON NOTES:
The Hurricanes and Bruins face off for the fourth and final time of the 2000-01 regular season, with the Hurricanes leading the season series two games to one. Carolina won the first meeting 3-1 in Boston on Nov. 24 at the Fleet Center, and took the most recent meeting, topping the Bruins 4-2 at the Entertainment and Sports Arena on Jan. 18. The Bruins defeated Carolina 4-1 in Boston on Dec. 16. Jeff O’Neill leads all Hurricanes with four points (3g, 1a) against the Bruins this season. The Hurricanes and Bruins split a four-game series, 2-2 last season with each team losing both games at home. The Hurricanes are 50-77-14 all-time against Boston and 30-32-7 on home ice against the Bruins.

HURRICANES VS. PHILADELPHIA NOTES:
The Hurricanes and Philadelphia face off for the last of four match-ups this season Monday at First Union Center. The Flyers lead the season series two games to one, with the Hurricanes’ lone victory coming on Nov. 30 at the Entertainment and Sports Arena by a score of 2-0. The Flyers defeated Carolina 2-1 in overtime in the teams’ meeting at Philadelphia on Dec. 23. Jeff O’Neill leads all Hurricanes scorers against the Flyers this season with three points (3g, 0a) in three games. The Hurricanes are 21-42-10-1 all-time against the Flyers and are 9-23-3-1 at Philadelphia.

CAROLINA INJURY UPDATE:
Darren Langdon suffered a groin strain at PHX (2/7). He is on the injured reserve list.Martin Gelinas suffered a sprained MCL at LAK (2/8). He is day-to-day.
