GAME NIGHT:
The Carolina Hurricanes play their fourth straight road game Tuesday at 7:30 p.m. against the Tampa Bay Lightning at the Ice Palace. Hurricane team captain Ron Francis has eight points in the last eight games (12/6-12/23: 1g, 7a). Carolina winger Jeff O’Neill has scored a goal in five of his last six games (12/9-12/23; 5g, 2a). The Hurricanes are currently in third place in the Southeast Division after falling to the Philadelphia Flyers 2-1 in overtime at First Union Center on Saturday.

CAROLINA / TAMPA BAY SERIES:
Sandis Ozolinsh scored the overtime game-winner as the Carolina Hurricanes defeated the Tampa Bay Lightning 6-5 at the Entertainment and Sports Arena on Oct. 31. Last season, the Hurricanes won the season series against the Lightning 3-1-1, including a 1-1-1 mark at the Ice palace. Jeff O’Neill scored the game-winner in the Hurricanes’ 3-2 win at the Ice Palace on February 12, 2000. The Hurricanes lead the all-time series with the Lightning 18-9-6, and have a 6-7-3 record in Tampa Bay.

CAROLINA NOTES:
The Hurricanes are 3-1-2 against Southeast Division opponents this season. The Hurricanes were 12-5-3 against Divisional opponents last season…Carolina goaltender Arturs Irbe has started 21 consecutive games for the Hurricanes. The franchise record for consecutive games started by a goaltender is 24 set by Irbe last season… Jeff O’Neill (9g, 4a) leads all Hurricanes scorers when away from Raleigh with 13 points in Carolina’s 18 road games so far this season…O’Neill has scored a goal in five of his last six games (12/9-12/23; 5g, 2a).
