The Carolina Hurricanes wrap-up their three-game road trip Wednesday night at 7:00 p.m. (CT) against the Minnesota Wild at Xcel Center. The Hurricanes began their road trip on December 6 at Atlanta with a 5-3 win over the Thrashers. Carolina team captain Ron Francis earned his 1,100th and 1,101st assists at Atlanta and added his 1,102nd at Calgary on December 9 in a 7-2 loss to the Flames. The Hurricanes continue to hover around the .500 mark on the road with a 6-7-1-1 road record but have yet to earn a “W” on the road against the Western Conference.

Tonight marks the first-ever meeting between the Carolina Hurricanes and the Minnesota Wild. The Hurricanes-Whalers franchise has gone 23-11-3 all-time against expansion teams playing in their first season since joining the league in the 1979-80 season along with the Edmonton Oilers, the Winnipeg Jets and the Québec Nordiques.
