It Takes Two To Tango:Although the Panthers earned victories in both Games 1 & 2 to start the series, Head Coach Rod Brind'Amour felt as if his team played well enough to win in both games. Carolina will need to generate more offense though, only being able to beat Sergei Bobrovsky three times on 103 shots in 201 minutes thus far.
Capitalizing When You Can:Carolina was the far superior team out of the gate on Saturday, not only claiming the game's first goal but also outshooting the Cats 16-1 at one point. While those things were great, the team talked about getting more than just one goal of offense when things were going so far in their direction.
Doesn't Matter Who:Antti Raanta made his first start since Game 5 of the first round on Saturday, drawing in after Frederik Andersen played nearly seven full periods of hockey in Game 1. Raanta was strong once again, showing no signs of rust in his 24/26 performance. The question begs though, does the team stick with the Finn, or turn back to Andersen for this evening?
Chatty's On The Board:Canes defender Jalen Chatfield recorded his first NHL playoff tally in Game 2, getting Carolina on the board just 1:43 in. The Hurricanes are one of just two teams with goals from five different defensemen in these playoffs (SEA: 6), and their eight total goals from the blue line trail only Florida (9) and SEA (9) for the league high.
