Lowell, MA - Lock Monsters center Michael Zigomanis has been named the Sher-wood AHL player of the week for the week ending October 21st, announced the American Hockey League today.

Zigomanis posted two goals in Friday night's 8-4 win over Springfield. He tallied another goal in Saturday's 4-3 win over Manchester, and added two assists in Sunday's 3-2 win against Norfolk.

In 6 games with the Lock Monsters, he has totaled 5 goals and 4 assists for 9 points, has a plus- 8 rating, and has recorded two minutes in penalties. Zigomanis has registered at least one point in all six of the Lock Monsters games this season. He leads the team in point scoring, and currently leads all AHL rookies in points.

In recognition of his accomplishments, Zigomanis will receive a Sher-Wood leather jacket during an on ice presentation prior to an upcoming game. Sher-Wood will also donate five travel bags to the Tewksbury Youth Hockey Association. As the player of the week, Zigomanis will participate in an on-line chat this Thursday at, the official website of the American Hockey League.
