CAROLINA SIGNS DRAFT PICK PETER REYNOLDS
RALEIGH, NC (Oct. 26, 2001) -
The Carolina Hurricanes activated defenseman Sandis Ozolinsh today from the Injured Reserve List.
Ozolinsh was placed on the IR on Oct. 23, retroactive to Oct. 18, with a knee injury. He will be in the lineup for tonight’s game against the New York Islanders (7:00 p.m.) at the Entertainment & Sports Arena.
In other Hurricanes news, defenseman Peter Reynolds signed a three-year contract and will report to the Lowell Lock Monsters of the American Hockey League. As per team policy, no other details are available.
Reynolds (6’2”, 200 lbs.) was Carolina’s ninth-round pick (274th overall) in June’s NHL Entry Draft. Reynolds, 20, played the last two seasons for North Bay of the Ontario Hockey League. He played his first two seasons of major junior hockey for London of the OHL. In 233 OHL games, Reynolds had seven goals, 89 assists and 223 penalty minutes.
